4GB Laptops to flourish in 2008, with no decent software support

4GB Laptops to flourish in 2008, with no decent software support

It looks like 2008 is going to be the year where laptops will come with 4GB of RAM by default. This is due to the continually falling price of semi-conductor (you love it when you shop, but hate it when you own).

Before paying extra bucks, one should be aware that current 32-bit Windows (XP, Vista) can’t take advantage of 4GB of physical memory in most cases. The other issue is that 64-bit Windows has crappy driver support.
